Frequently Asked Questions

What workshops do you do?

We conduct Japanese art workshops for adults (and mature students) as well as children's School Holiday workshops.

For adult classes you should be at least 16 years of age to participate - under 18's must have parental permission to undertake those workshops. No prior experience is necessary unless stated under the workshop details.

Children's school holiday workshops are geared towards students between 8-13 years old with no prior experience necessary.  Students will learn about Japanese art and culture while personalising their own artwork so that it is unique to them. They do not need to know how to read or write in Japanese - but an interest in doing so adds to the fun and adventure!

Do we need to know how to speak Japanese?

❀ No. Classes are held in English.

[School Holiday Workshops] Does my child need to bring anything?

❀ All materials will be provided, so no need to bring materials.

❀ Please wear enclosed-toe shoes for safety reasons.

❀ Please bring along a nut-free snack for break time. Water to drink will be available at all times.

What is your policy for cancellation and payment?

❀ Full payment is due upon signing up for a workshop to secure your child's position as I have room for only four students and registration can only be confirmed once payment is made. Bookings are made through PayPal.

❀ 100% of school holiday workshop fees are refundable or transferable to another school holiday workshop if cancellation is made at least one week before the date of your booked workshop.

❀ 100% of adult workshop fees are refundable or transferable to another workshop if cancellation is made at least one week before the first session for weekly workshops.

For less than one week, or if your child is unwell on the day, you are welcome to send another child (e.g. friend or sibling) to enjoy the workshop in their place, so long as they meet the age and ability requirements for that workshop.

Unfortunately, there are no refunds for non-attendance or for less than one week's notice.
